Brand New Beginner Course (BNB)
Teaches the fundamental principles that work quickly to improve your posture, alleviate pain, and focus your mind. This eight session course will break down the correct alignment, health benefits, and modifications of our Stationary Sequence (SS) class. A great course for the beginner yoga student as well as intermediate students looking to deepen their understanding of the yoga process. The course is session based with each class building on the previous; pre-registration is required.
Essentials (E)
A non-heated class with slow, mindful movements that promote healing. This class is open to all levels and focuses on therapeutic movement principles that will help identify imbalances while strengthening the mind and body.
Stationary Sequence (SS)
A full body sequence of postures for beginners to advanced practitioners. Postures promote strength and flexibility while fostering deeper levels of concentration. Recommended for students who want to strengthen and balance their mind and body while developing a strong foundation. All Stationary Sequence classes are Balanced Athlete certified.
Community Class (CC)
A donation based Stationary Sequence class lead by instructors who volunteer their time to teach. All proceeds go to charity with a different worthy cause or organization as the recipient each month.
Sacred Music (SM)
A Stationary Sequence class with uplifting music played throughout. The teacher guides you with minimal instruction, allowing for a deep, meditative practice. It is recommended that you attend at least ten Stationary Sequence classes before attending Sacred Music.
Core Awakening (CA)
This 60-minute class highlights Core based movements in four different planes of motion. You will focus on toning and strengthening from the Core and mindfully moving from that awareness. You will experience uplifting music, sound therapeutic alignment principles and receive heart-felt inspiration
Vinyasa (V)
This class takes the principles taught in the Stationary Sequence into a dynamic flow using the breath to link postures. Increase your lung capacity and mental alertness through yogic breathing while tapping into your ability to calm the body, mind, and emotions. A physically challenging and spiritually fulfilling class.
Meditation (M)
An introduction to the practice of mindfulness-awareness meditation. Each week there is instruction in sitting and walking meditation, combined with a guided visualization or contemplation or a talk based on meditative awareness. There is plenty of time for questions and discussion. We welcome newcomers and those already meditating, as we build a meditation community at Empowered Yoga. There is no class fee although donations towards building and maintaining a dedicated meditation space are greatly appreciated.
